Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Wildflower is an appointment only and appointment-focused studio. This means that ALL services including jewelry purchases, require an appointment to ensure that the necessary time, care, and attention is dedicated to providing each client with the best experience possible. Guests are welcome to visit the studio or browse the current jewelry selection during business hours, but without an appointment we cannot guarantee we will have time to assist you. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday 12-6pm, & appointments can be booked online.

What if I have an urgent piercing issue?

Most common piercing issues and emergency situations, including guidance on what to do until you can schedule a check-up, can be found on the “Aftercare” page of the website.

If you are in need of an urgent check-up or jewelry insert appointment, please reach out via email we can usually fit you in!

What payment methods do you accept?

Where are you located?

Wildflower is located inside of the Market Square building at 22 Depot Street in Potsdam New York.

The easiest way to find the studio is to enter the double doors next to The Village Diner, & continue straight ahead down the hall. The studio is on the same side of the hallway as the restrooms.

Do you do tattoos too?

No. Only piercings and jewelry sales and services are done at Wildflower. There are no tattoo artists on staff. Facebook does not have a "Body Piercing Studio" choice for business categories, "Tattoo and Piercing Shop" is the closest category.

Sorry for any confusion, but you can blame Facebook for that one.

Can I bring in my own jewelry to be pierced with?

For your safety, Wildflower does not perform new piercings with jewelry purchased from outside of the studio. This policy exists to maintain the studio’s strict safety and jewelry requirements and to maintain membership in the Association of Professional Piercers.

If you have previously purchased jewelry in the studio before, you may bring it in for a jewelry insert appointment. There is no fee for sterilization or jewelry changes when you purchase jewelry here.

Jewelry purchased elsewhere can be put into a healed piercing, as long as it will fit comfortably, is made of a safe material, & can withstand a sterilization cycle without sustaining damage. There is a $10 fee for jewelry changes or inserts done with jewelry purchased elsewhere.

Jewelry can be reused on the same individual for multiple piercings if possible providing it is the correct size. Jewelry cannot be used from one client to another even if it has been purchased in the studio & sterilized.

How much will my appointment cost?

Why are there age limits for piercings?

It is wonderful that more and more parents are choosing professional body piercers to safely pierce their kids.

However, our piercer is not comfortable or experienced with piercing children under the age of eight. We would be happy to recommend a different professional piercer that does pierce younger children if you would like them done sooner.

As for other age limits, some piercings require a great deal of patience in order to heal. Some have rather uncomfortable piercing processes. Others are not ideal for bodies that are still growing. A great deal of professional knowledge and experience has gone into setting our age limits, other studios may set theirs differently, but please be respectful of our policies.

What kind of jewelry do you sell?

Currently Wildflower carries a large supply of implant-grade titanium, some niobium pieces, as well as a curated selection of 14 & 18 karat solid gold pieces. All jewelry sold is free from nickel, cadmium, and lead. New pieces are added regularly, and we are always willing to work with you for custom jewelry orders.

The piercing I want isn’t listed. Do you do it?

The piercings offered on the booking page are piercings that we are completely comfortable offering to everyone (age & anatomy depending) at this time. Some piercings can cause serious or dangerous damage to the body, such as horizontal tongue or “snake eyes” piercings that we will not offer. There are some piercings that have very lengthy and often complicated healing processes like cheek piercings that we do not feel comfortable offering.

Microdermals and surface-bar piercings (anti-eyebrow, vertical tragus, & horizontal eyebrow piercings are all examples of piercings that are best done with surface bars) are what we call “long term temporary” piercings. While some folks might get lucky and have them for many years, they do generally reject eventually. The truth is, most folks only end up keeping microdermals or surface bar piercings for 1-5 years. Due to their temporary nature, microdermals and surface bar piercings are not currently offered. We can still assist you with the removal of these piercings, downsize or possibly change the jewelry in them, or perform check-ups if you already have them.
